Teachers
Paint their minds
and guide their thoughts
Share their achievements
and advise their faults

Inspire a Love
of knowledge and truth
As you light the path
Which leads our youth

For our future brightens
with each lesson you teach
Each smile you lengthen
Each goal you help reach

For the dawn of each poet
each philosopher and king

And the wisdom they bring

friend..................

The summer we met how could I have known
I saw you that first time standing alone
I was new to the crowd and a little bit scared
I needed a friend who really cared
I never thought it would be you who'd come when I was down
I always felt if my life flooded you'd just let me drown

I don't know how it happened,
you were suddenly my best friend
I sat and listened to you cry
Your broken heart I tried to mend

You told me about the girl you loved
I told you be patient to look up above
I said to trust God to really pray
You said that you had, so I prayed everyday

I asked God to guide you and help you to see
I told you you could always depend on me
You got what you wanted but she doesn't treat you right
You both argue and she always starts a fight

One night we were talking about something she'd done
I had known I liked you but then it hit me all in one
Suddenly I knew I loved you more than life itself
and I broke down and cried all by myself

When I finally told you you didn't seem surprised
I stood in front of you drying my eyes
I love you more than words can say
I think about you everyday

You are my best friend and I hate to see you cry
I try to hide my feelings believe me(name) I try
I know I'll never measure up to what you see in her,
she's the luckiest girl I've ever known
But just know you're never on your own
I love you, my best friend

Should Parents Give Freedom to Teenagers?

Rules are meant to be broken, forbidding something makes the temptation that much greater. But what if nothing is forbidden, will that lessen the temptation?

A parent’s job is to teach the difference between right and wrong, monitor behavior, discipline, love, and care for their child; but beyond all of those things, trust their child. The thing about trust is, it’s earned, and it’s easy to lose. Teenage kids want their parents to trust them with their freedom, but with the freedom comes responsibility.

Teenagers are known to be irresponsible, to make mistakes. So how can teenagers be trusted when there is temptation around every corner, willing them to make a mistake every change they get? How can a parent be sure they raised their child to know right from wrong, to not make mistakes? No parent can know their teen will make the right choice; they have to believe in their kid’s ability to do so.

Not everyone will make the same mistake, not everyone will want to try everything presented to them. Parents have to trust their child enough to let them make their own mistakes.
“You may have heard the story about the little boy who was watching a butterfly struggle to break out of a cocoon. Feeling sorry for the butterfly, they boy opened the cocoon and set the butterfly free. But after flying only a few yards, the butterfly fell to the ground and died. The little boy hadn’t realized that the butterfly needed the struggle to gain the strength that would allow it to fly and live.”
Teens cannot grow up if their parents are not allowing them to break free of their restraints and insecurities by themselves.

When a parent sets so many rules, standards, and guidelines that there is little room for expression of individuality, and to grow and learn, it leaves the teen with a choice; which rules, standards, and guidelines they break. “It is important for parents to make rules for their young children. As children get older, however, they need to lean and make some of their own decisions and life choices.” When a parent trusts their kid to the extent that they allow their teen freedom to experiment, the teenager is much more likely to respect their parents and their rules.

There is another side to parent’s allowance of teenager’s freedom. They allow too much. If a parent sets no standards for what is expected from the teen, if there are no rules, what is restricting the teen from trying anything and everything the teen can get their hands on? “Parents can prevent or delay their children from using alcohol and marijuana if they set clear rules and expectations.” A parent’s role in a child’s life may mean the difference between what they do, and what they don’t do. Some teenagers have set standards for personal reasons for where they draw the line on when to say yes or to say no. other teens are ready and willing to try anything and everything they can get their hands on. If their parents don’t disapprove or care, what’s stopping them?

Teens don’t always deserve a large amount of freedom, but before a parent restricts all opportunities a teen has of trust, respect, and freedom, they should listen to the teen’s reasoning on everything they’ve done. People make mistakes; it’s only human. But, after a teen makes a mistake, blowing up and restricting everything the teenager can do won’t stop them from doing anything. Teenagers will sneak around, lie, go behind backs, and not trust or respect their parents any more than their parents do them.

So, should teens be allowed freedom? To a certain extent, yes. Should parents have rules and guidelines? Yes. Can freedom be exercised and abused by kids? Freedom can be abused by anyone. But, teens should be trusted with the freedom they deserve and a chance to explain when they make mistakes. They are, after all, only human, a perfectly imperfect species.

Teenagers' Problems

Recently, it is not difficult to find some teenagers have a poor relationship with their parents. This issue will damage the communication skills of teenagers. It is an acute problem for them. It has already become a trend. Without doubts, it has aroused a great public concern for this. Due to the poor relationship, teenagers are always unwilling to talk with their parents. Parents have not a chance to listen their feeling.   Surely, nowadays, teenagers always study round a clock because of their great deal of homework and examinations. In addition, school bully problem is like the whirlwind spreading all over the schools. Apparently, teenagers are bearing a high pressure and feel suffocated. Unfortunately, owing to the bad relationship, their communication skills will be broken. They are unwilling to share their ups and downs with their parents. They also can’t communicate with the others. They can’t make friend with others. Thus, no one can share their pressure.

They are lonely. They are facing the difficulty alone. Obviously, they lack ability to tackle all the problems. Moreover, some bad information may mislead the immature ones to go astray. In some extreme cases, they may even want to escape from reality by committing suicide. Therefore, because of the poor relationship, teenagers can’t growth up health. The communication will be broken. How can we solve the problem between teenagers and their parents? How can we help them to build up a relationship between teenagers and their parents? How can we recover their broken communication skills? Education is the effective method to tackle the poor relationship problem. We should educate that all the parents love their children. All the things they do are for their children. Teenagers should not think their parents are trouble. Thus, teenagers should build up good relationship with their parents.

Teenagers Today

Today's teenagers, in general, have the right to obtain education. In my opinion, only the educations can increase the literacy among the teenagers and hence teenagers will have a wider range of communication. Why does communication seem to be so important? For your information, by communicating with others, we can actually exchange our ideas with them. Isn't good for us? On the contrary, if we do not obtain education, we definitely cannot communicate well with others. This will lead to misunderstanding which subsequently leads to quarrels or even wars. Hence, teenagers have the responsibility to study and complete their given tasks, homework or assignment.

In addition, teenagers have the right to participate in family, cultural and social life. Teenagers should learn to mix well with others be it a Malay, a Chinese or an Indian. For example, teenagers should be actively involved in the activities held in the residential areas such as 'gotong-royong'. Besides, teenagers are also responsible to help around the house. To illustrate, they can help in the household chores such as sweeping and mopping the floor, wiping the window, wash the clothes and others. These can help to shape the teenagers to be more responsible and be more independent.

Nowadays, the teenagers appear to be revolting throughout the world. On top of that, teenagers today succumb to various influences. For instance, moral values and graciousness, in the past, were prominent in most teenagers. However, these moral values and self-discipline hold by the teenagers are gradually diminishing over the years. This lack of self-discipline and self control is becoming more and more apparent over time. Even the simplest of morals say, respect, care and consideration are fading away over the years. In particular, a simple display of respect like offering the elderly a seat on the bus is being replaced by other violent acts.

Furthermore, teenagers today tend to lead a modern lifestyle as compared to the teenagers in the past. Unlike those days, teenagers are forced to stay at home playing all kinds of simple games; teenagers today have variety of choice or games, for example, computer games. Teenagers too, seem to like the same kind of things and adopt similar fashions. In particular, walk man and modern hand phones seem to be inseparable for the teenagers. The long hairstyle of the teenagers of the western countries has also become very common in our country. Moreover, teenagers today often staying up late or even involving in social ills. It's very sad to hear that the percentage of teenagers involved in social ills is increasing. Hence, some actions must be taken to stop the teenagers from continue to abuse themselves.

In a nutshell, teenagers, the cream of the society, must not be allowed to move on the path of destruction. The home and the school have a tremendous responsibility in shaping the character of the teenagers. The teenagers need people to advise them, guide them, and to lead and show them the path of righteous and enjoyable activities. The correct directions given to teenagers can help them to be good and useful men of tomorrow.

School Life

School is a daily routine for us
In the morning, we're sure to make a fuss
Even when the sun is still not up,
Here we are, awake at 6am sharp

We feel that school is such a bore
We feel that school is such a chore
Parents say, “School’s great! Now, go!”
We say, “Well, what do you know?”

Late a minute and we have to run
Eyes half open, shoelaces undone
We reach school and we see our friends,
Immediately, the torture ends

We have a chat and go with the flow
Then the bell rings, it is time to go
We may at times find school stressful
To have some fun, we have to bend some rules

Talk back to teachers, and detention we serve
No doubt, it is sometimes what we deserve
Sometimes they are as cold as ice
And other times they're actually really nice

They teach us and give us a helping hand
They’re forever ready to listen and be a friend
They have built much confidence in us
Just not when they are being really harsh

Over the years of education,
Never have we had so much learning with action
Such as camps, experiments, concerts and activities
We’ve learnt so much and even saved the trees

A wise teacher once said aloud -
Success is failure turned inside out
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit

Some may see school as a torture chamber
Some cannot wait for the holidays in December
But it depends on how we look at school
Honestly, positively, school is cool!

Teen Problem-Gay..

I once loved one man, he took my only heart
and right there in front of me, he ripped it apart
I know he didn't mean to, and the fault is mine to blame
but the guilt and pain remains all the same
but now I understand, why he ran away
now I understand why he didn't stay
he was afraid to love, and afraid to take a chance
he was afraid to leave and make another stance
he was afraid to make his mark on societies wall
he was afraid to take a leap, as he could fall
he would have rather stayed inside that rotting jail
he rather stay with society, even though I paid bail
he made his mind and stayed with society
even though he had his chance to be free
so now as I sit outside societies dream
I linger like a nightmare, making people scream
they say its just a phase, that I'll get over it soon
they say its a disease, like the werewolf and the moon
but deep down in my heart, I know it isn't so
because I have to be strong, so I can show
people like the one man who threw me in a bin
that no matter how hard they try, we will never give in!
cause what's the point of hurting us? so we can feel bad?
so we can understand what its like to be sad?
well we already know just how it feels
cause it is so hard for us to reveal
that we like the same sex, and who really gives a damn?
goes in the end we all still go all cold and clam
so who cares if I'm gay! I am proud to be
because in my world I take it as a victory
that I can make a choice and stand from the rest
be an individual and try my best
and kids at school may laugh at me and call nasty names
but you know what? it doesn't matter it's all a game!
cause later on in life they will suddenly see
that the reason I was gay, was because it was me
so go on a call out names and raise your heads so high
but remember who I am, just before you die
remember that I was strong and managed to pull through
and remember that if I can do it, then so can you
so today I stand and say that I am proud to be gay
and if I had a choice... I'd have it no other way!

Abuse Teen-Sold By Mother For Money

Shut your mouth and listen to what I have to say,
I'm going to take you back to that one specific day.
I was laying in bed alone while listening to you and him talk on the phone.
You said, "Well if they have the money I don't see why not,
She'll be ready by 9 o'clock"
You came in and said it's time to get up,
Shower well and I'll make you pretty with make up.
In a pretty white dress and hair done to match,
You told me I'm a breath-taking catch.
I sat on the couch waiting with you,
But what was in store for me I had no clue.
They came in, three men.
I will never forget the sight of them.
They tossed you a wad of money,
while grabbing my hand and saying come with me honey.
I didn't want to go but you made me,
You let them rape me for money!!
I cried and tried to run away,
But you helped them push me on the bed and screamed STAY!
You said to be a good little girl or I'll make you sad,
So I shut my mouth and let them do the things that were bad.
I was only 7 years old and already my innocents was lost,
You needed the money but at what cost?
Every day those men came over and brought more,
Each time you just watched at the door.
I ran away at the age of eight,
Why was I put into this fate?
I was ashamed of what was done,
So of course I could tell no one.
The day you found me you said things changed,
That I won't have to do those things.
Well mom it was that way for a month then you started again,
through the door each day came the men and their friends.
Well I'm ten now and things got to come to an end,
You see I became a "woman" at the age of 9 with my monthly "friend".
Tonight while you're asleep I'm packing my bag to quietly leave,
But I want you to know that while the men were doing their "deed",
One of them impregnated me with their seed.

You Left Me For No Reason,Mum

You had me, you left me, you never cared,
I was your second child and still you weren't  prepared.

On the lonely nights when I was sad,
You were the one who made me feel bad.

You  were never there to wipe my tears,
You weren't there for me throughout the years.

When I was lonely you weren't there,
I guess that's because you didn't care.

I could never forgive you for what you did,
Because sometimes I wished I was dead.

Without a mother I was lost and confused,
If parenting were a contest you would lose.

Call me or write me you never did,
How could you do that to your own kid.

You had me, you left me, you never cared,
You are the reason that I was scared.

All those days that I've been upset,
Will soon become your biggest regret,

You never even called just to say hi,
You never even called just to say goodbye.

Years and years past and still no word,
The words I love you I never heard.

When I was sick you didn't comfort me,
When I was hurt you didn't bandage me.

I don't want you to be a part of my life,
No matter how many times you apologize.

I'm just gonna pretend like you didn't even exist,
Because you didn't even give me one last kiss.

You had me, you left me, you never cared,
My most important memories we never shared.

True Friendship Never Dies

I feel I've lost a thousand years,
just living day by day,
I'm hidden behind the pain and tears,
my sorrow guides the way,
I cannot see where I have gone,
nor where my life shall go,
but leaving you my life long friend is the only way I know,
it will be painful, I will be weak,
but true friendship never dies,
so call upon the greatest power,
when you feel you can't survive,
he will hear you saddest hours,
and keep our memories alive,
for in the eternal love of god,
True friendship Never dies.
